Welcome to the learning spot.

Today we learned to pick our own books for our book boxes. This doesn't sound like much to adults but to six year olds, it's very exciting. We decided to reorganize our library and will spend time this week doing that. Pictures to follow!

    Today we learned how to use schema to help us understand a story. At the end of the day, when the kids were writing in their learning logs, J. offered this explanation of schema:
    "It's when you use what you already know but wasn't sure you knew it and read a new story that you didn't know but find out that you did know it because of what you already knew."
    I think that's correct!
