schema

Today we learned about using schema in reading comprehension. As the children were writing in their learning logs at the end of the day, J. told us what she thought schema meant:
"Schema is using what you know but didn't know you knew when you read a new story and then you connect to the story and find out that you really did know it with your schema."
I guess that's it!
